This was by far one of the coolest projects I’ve worked on in a long time. I had guitars, bass, keyboards and drums all talking to AIR through an XML socket. My friend Chris Stevens wrote the service in C that allowes Flash and the hardware to talk to each other. I wrote the XML driven framework in ActionScript that runs in Adobe AIR. Making updates, adding sections, swapping out graphics is as easy as writing an email.
After about a year of working on the framework the sound lab is up and running. It launched on March 27, 2010!
